We’ve actually heard mixed reviews about Charlie’s Grind and Grill: some say they serve the best burgers in town, while others say it’s all hype. The influx of requests to review this burger place was too strong to ignore, though, so one sunny afternoon, we decided to give it a try.

We ordered a Black Angus Burger w/ Shrooms and Fries (P440) to share. It’s a black angus burger patty topped with a panko (flaky bread crumbs) crusted cheese-filled portabello mushroom, plus a slice of onion, tomato and lettuce inside a nice, soft bun.
What do we think? Well, it was love at first bite. The fusion of various flavors from the meat down to mushroom and vegetables was positively enticing. It was juicy and thoroughly scrumptious in every bite. The portabello mushroom provided a variety in texture, too.

Unfortunately, there is a downside to a Charlie’s burger. The patty, although flavorful, is quite fragile and you may have to be very careful while eating it so that it won’t break apart. The fries also left much to be desired.
Nevertheless, this burger was swiped out in around two minutes—that’s a record, for the two of us.

Well, will you just look at that. Look at it. Beautiful.
I totally loved their Buffalo Wings 1/2 Dozen (P170) as well. You can have the sauce either “hot”, “sweet”, or “nuclear”. We went for the “hot” version, because we didn’t want something sweet that wouldn’t really have the essence of a buffalo wing, while the nuclear might be too much for my taste buds.
It’s pretty good to eat by itself, even without the sauce on the side. Just use that if you need an extra tangy kick. The skin is crunchy and flavorful.
The vegetable sticks on the side aren’t just garnishes—they’re actually a good break from the hot buffalo wings.
The Verdict: We’re definitely coming back, although it might be hard reaching this place, since we only took a cab going there and we had to walk a dozen meters to get a taxi going home. I guess it’s better to take a car since there’s parking. I’m looking forward to our next visit, though, because we’re excited to try their other dishes. If only we could order everything, haha.
