Delish has been on our radar for a long time now, but we only got to visit the place recently because of our hectic schedules. Delish is famous for serving scrumptious oysters flown fresh daily, as well as affordable Filipino food.
For budget eaters, you’ll be glad to know that Delish serves lunch specials that range from 90-150php. The lunch special is good for one person, and is served with a cup of rice and soup.

The interiors are sleek, modern and inviting. It’s a good break from all the traditional-looking Filipino restaurants.

Douglas and I ordered Red Iced Teas (P45). We tasted a hint of strawberry in the tasty mixture.

We did not expect much from the complimentary soup, but we were pleasantly surprised that the broth was full-bodied albeit a bit oily.

Delish’s Oyster Combination (P285) originally comes in three flavors, but unfortunately, they only had two flavors available the day we visited. One platter of the Oysters Combination normally has nine freshly baked oysters. This is the Garlic and Cream Cheese variant, and from the picture alone, you can tell that there was a generous amount of cheese and garlic coating the silky, soft oyster.

Just when we thought the oysters can’t get better, we tasted the Spinach and Ham variant. The recipe for this one was more subtle, and therefore highlighted the elusive taste of the oysters more.

Judging from the reddish color, we immediately thought that Delish’s version of Crispy Bicol Express (P90) would be flaming hot, but surprisingly, it wasn’t spicy at all. In fact, we tasted bagoong in the sauce instead of spiced coconut cream. We asked the waiter if he gave us the right dish, but he insisted this was really their version of bicol express. To give this dish some merit, though, the crispy pork liempo served with the dish was really tender on the lean bits, and had a layer of deliciously crunchy skin.

We came here for their Crispy Pork Knuckles (385). What sets this version apart is that it’s served boneless, so it saves you from the hassle of removing meat from bones. The skin was perfectly crunchy, although the meat was not as flavorful as we had hoped. The oriental sauce served on the side deviates from the usual mixture we’re used to, although I think I like the original more.
Overall Verdict: Delish is great for people on the lookout for affordable Filipino food, although I must admit we weren’t exactly blown away from our experience. We’ll still visit from time to time to devour more of their delicious oysters and to try out more of their offerings, though. I’ve heard they serve really good sisig.
