Italian Tomato and Basil $12.50
We opted for an Italian-style pizza, although we’re aware that CPK is known for their signature BBQ pizzas (‘cause I was craving for Italian). It was a good choice nonetheless. Douglas and I looked at each other and nodded in approval after taking our first bite. The basil and the tomatoes were the ones responsible for most of the flavor, and I’m happy to say that those ingredients did their job well. Their strong flavors were complemented by the Parmesan Cheese, another ingredient that made this pizza wonderful. All those were on top of a soft dough, which was easy to slice. Quite small, though, for its price. It was just right for the two of us, and we don’t exactly eat that much.

Pesto Cream Penne w/ Chicken $13.00 + $14.50
This, too, was a very delightful dish. Instead of your usual pesto dish, this was creamier and tastier. The penne was cooked al dente, and it felt fresh out of the pot. Adding chicken was a good choice, because it added some texture and character, instead of a plain pasta dish. Good for two.
The Verdict: One thing I don’t like about eating pizzas on dates is that pizzas are usually too much for two people. However, the pizzas and pastas of CPK are just right for a couple. If you two have money to spare, and are craving for California-style Italian cuisine, this is certainly the place for you. When I say “money to spare”, though, I mean it. This place carries a hefty price on your pockets. Nonetheless, it’s fit for a first date. It won’t fail you, trust me. :)
Note: Sorry the prices are in dollars, I couldn’t find the Filipino version of the menu.
