Date # 37: Bellini’s

To most people, Bellini’s is a hidden gemstone. People who wander in this restaurant normally end up being surprised, because it feels so out of place in its location (which is populated by boutiques and antique shops). Nevertheless, patrons always flock to this place whenever they feel the need to satiate their authentic Italian cuisine cravings.

The ambiance is warm and romantic, and yet refreshing at the same time. I suppose the yellow lighting and the hand painted walls work together to make the interiors elegant and yet lively. It’s perfect for a romantic date, sans the intimidating fine dining feel.

We did not get to taste the house wine but having this on our table completes the elegant and romantic feel of the place.

As soon as our order of Pasta Panna Prosciutto Funghi (P300) landed on the table, our noses were filled with the shockingly fragrant and intoxicating aroma of the truffle. It had a unique earthy and organic twist to the creamy white sauce. The noodles are cooked perfectly al dente, chewy and with the right ‘bite’. We actually became a little bit disappointed with our taste buds while eating it because we couldn’t fully comprehend how such few ingredients could have such a complex taste.
Be sure not to eat this when you’re too hungry, else you’ll tend to gobble it up without savoring its taste. The serving isn’t too big, either.

Sorry for these pictures. Our seats had crazy lighting.
We had our small size pizza split into two flavors: Pizza Marinara (Small - 250 Large - 450) and Parma Ham Arugula (Small - 350 Large - 600).Bellini’s makes use of a thin and crunchy crust with a simple tomato and mozzarella base. Their pizza was much less complicated than their pasta, but I enjoyed both equally.
The Parma Ham Arugula is the side of the pizza with the more greens. The abundance or arugula reminded me of eating panizza. It was good, but I liked the Pizza Marinara better, because of flavorful and delicious dominant flavor of the tomato sauce.

Ordering the Ravioli Spinach Ham Truffle Cream (P300) was sort of like an afterthought for us. Douglas wanted more pasta since I ate 75% of the one above (I’m evil).
Don’t let the flooded appearance of the bowl fool you—this pasta was just as good as the last. Each ravioli piece was generously filled with a serving of spinach and ham. The truffle cream provided the much needed subtle sweet and creamy flavor, similar to our previous order of pasta.

The Verdict: Are you fucking kidding me? GO. HERE. NOW. If you have money to spare, and a love for Italian food, I suggest you don’t miss out on this place.
